Well things have been a bit quiet on the live front lately but there's been a heap of stuff going on behind the scenes ... For one thing, I've been working on some new tunes so I'll be going into the studio to demo them real soon. I've also been searching for a new bass player and drummer for the Riff Randalls. We have had trouble finding a bass player since Wayne moved to Melbourne but we are lucky to have our friend Craig McNamara helping us out on the electric bass which has added a whole new dimension to things. You may have seen Craig playing guitar and singing with Northern Beaches punk band AKA. I must say it's been a while since I've played with an electric bass in the band but it's been fun and it's definitely tripled the 'foot-on-foldback action'!
We are also happy to welcome Vaughn Dunn to the Riff Randalls who will be sitting behind the drum kit for our Sydney shows. We've just started rehearsing with Vaughn and he is really nailing it and adding some great dynamics to the songs.          Other news is that unfortunately I won't be making it over to the UK and Europe this year ... I was hoping to get out in October to do some shows but it's been a crazy year and I've decided to stay in Oz for a bit longer to work on some new material but hopefully, if all goes to plan I'm looking at the possibilities of a tour to the UK, Europe and US next year ... I really miss everyone in the US and I can't wait 'til I finally get over to Europe and the UK.
Meanwhile, back in Oz ... the Riff Randalls have been preparing for our first ever tour of Melbourne!!! Seems ridiculous that we haven't been down there before but we are all looking forward to it. Everyone keeps telling me I should move there as it's the happening place in terms of music and art so we're off to see for ourselves! We'll be heading down there at the end of September and I'll be mailing out the dates shortly.
Other exciting news is that Morrissey will be gracing our Australian shores in October for Livid!!! I'm personally very excited as I've never seen him play live before and was kicking myself for not being in the US whilst he was touring ... I'm also keen to see the band as those rockers would know, Moz has a kick-ass line-up behind him with the very talented Alain Whyte on guitar and backing vocals, Boz Boorer (of Polecats fame) on guitar and Gaz Day who has played with psycho bands such as The Gazmen, The Sharks and Frantic Flintstones on bass. There's a new guy, Dean on drums so it'll be a really interesting show to see.
Well that's all for now, I don't normally rant this much but it's been ages since I've updated y'all ... take care.

For more details please check out:

Don't say we didn't warn you...this girl rocks like nothing else this side of the cosmos. Mean assed rockin' punk that's fast, raw and damn loud. With her beloved Danelectro slung low, Brigitte belts it out like no one else - she has a sound and style that is all her own.

Noted for her fierce vocals, Brigitte began her musical career at age 15 and has been singing and playing in various line-ups across Australia ever since.

In April 2000, Brigitte took to the States. Teaming up with some of America's top musicians she rocked her path across the US. Brigitte featured in The Viva Las Vegas 2000 festival backed there by American band 'The Sin City Sinners'. Brigitte took control of the stage, rockin' flat out & knocking the unsuspecting audience off their feet. After Vegas, Brigitte and 'The Sin City Sinners' made a handful of hard & fast appearances around Los Angeles & San Diego, leaving the crowds screaming for more. Brigitte has played at The House of Blues, Hollywood; Bowl-A-Rama, Los Angeles; The Opium Den, Hollywood; The Gig, Hollywood; The Derby, Hollywood; The Garage, Los Angeles; Linda's Doll Hut, Annaheim; Rockabilly Festival, Jackson TN; Tio Leo's, San Diego; Culver Saloon, Culver City; Java Lanes, Los Angeles; Dominico's, Pascadena, CA.

Brigitte's whirlwind tour left Americans wondering what hit them ... Where did that wild & crazy chick come from?

To capitalise on this unexpected attention, Brigitte then traveled back to the States in October 2000 for 3 months of touring from New York City's Rodeo Bar, The Golden Key, Pennsylvania and The Blue Comet, Philadelphia, through to Hollywood where she spent 2 months playing some of the hottest venues and impressing some of the biggest names in music today.

During her stay in Los Angeles, Brigitte took her fiery sounds to the studio, recording at Hollywood's Tiki Hut Studios which has recorded the likes of Lemmy from Motorhead, Johnny Ramone, The Blue Hawaiians and many more. The demo features the guitars of Danny B Harvey (Rockats, 13 Cats, Swing Cats, Spahn Ranch), frantic double bass slappin' by Jack Fire & Wade Glenn on drums. The tracks have been released as 'Brigitte Handey with Danny B Harvey through independent Japanese label 'Revel Yell Records' and distributed worldwide through 'Hepcat Records' USA.

The 7" single 'Mad at You/Control Freak' and 7 track mini CD 'Stand Your Ground' is OUT NOW!

Brigitte is now back in Sydney, working on her new band the 'RIFF RANDALLS' seeking representation and label interest and planning another US and Japanese tour for 2002.
